The Times has a great article on the recent discovery of devices that effectivley make some objects invisible. The material is able to bend waves around an object (not to be seen) and then bend it back on the other end. Basically, you see what's on the other side of the hidden object. Of course, they first were dealing with microwaves, but it's a start.
Still in the beginning stages, there is hope that my biggest fantasy - to be invisible for a day - may still be able to come true.
